Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg was born in a poor class district of Dorchester, of Boston, Massachusetts on June 5th, 1971. His parents Alma Elaine, a bank clerk and nurse's aide, and Donald Edward Wahlberg, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and delivery driver, had 9 kids. Mark is the youngest.
During Marks youth he had been in trouble over 20 times with the police. By 13 he was addicted to cocaine and other substances. Wahlberg eventually would be charged with attempted murder. He pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to two years in Suffolk County Deer Island House of Corrections. He served 45 days. During his stay in jail he took it upon himself to turn around his behavior.
In 1990 Mark began his own musical adventure as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. The group became known for stripping to their boxers while rapping and dancing at their concerts, which led to an advertising deal for Wahlberg with Calvin Klein.
In 1993 Wahlberg made his acting debut in the TV film The Substitute. In 1995 he caught the attention critics by starring in the 1995 drama The Basketball Diaries. The following year he starred in James Foley thriller Fear, proving that he was a serious versatile actor.
Since then Mark has starred in blockbuster hits such as Boogie Nights, Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, The Italian Job, Four Brothers, The Departed, Invincible, and most recently Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Gambler
Wahlberg has become one of the very few people in Hollywood to not only overcome his past but also make a positive transition from a rapper to an A-list Hollywood actor. On August 1, 2009 Wahlberg married model Rhea Durham. The couple has 4 children.
